COMMENCEMENT

BACHELOR'S GRADS

Dear Graduating Senior:

Congratulations! Completing your college education is one of life's most significant accomplishments. We share your great pride.

I warmly invite you and your family to participate in our 141st Commencement ceremony and reception on Saturday, May 18, 2013.

Commencement is the campuswide ceremony that celebrates your graduation. The 2013 Commencement ceremony honors December 2012 and January 2013 graduates, potential May 2013 degree candidates, and potential August 2013 degree candidates. You will be seated by your school (School of Arts and Humanities, School of Education, School of Natural and Social Sciences, or School of The Professions). During the ceremony, your dean will present your school as a group to President Podolefsky for conferral of degrees.

A baccalaureate degree candidate is a student who has in progress the courses necessary to complete his or her bachelor's degree and has also submitted an undergraduate degree application through the Registrar's Office by the appropriate deadline. The Registrar will review your records and notify you of any deficiencies.

Students eligible to participate in the 2013 Commencement will receive the commencement informational postcard at their permanent addresses during spring recess (March 25-30, 2013).

The links on this page direct you to answers to specific questions you may have. Pease also use the contact information on the main commencement page should you have further questions.

Please know that "graduation" occurs when you complete your degree requirements, and the Registrar's Office will mail your diploma to your permanent address several weeks following the end of the semester in which you do so.

I hope your graduation leads you to a new level of involvement with Buffalo State. The Buffalo State Alumni Association invites you to enjoy your membership and welcomes your ideas and your participation in professional networking, as well as social and educational activities.

With best wishes for happiness in all your future endeavors.

Dennis Ponton, Ph.D.
