COMMENCEMENT

MASTER'S-C.A.S. GRADS

Dear Master's Degree Candidate:

Congratulations! Completing your graduate studies is indeed a significant accomplishment, one few achieve and one in which we share your great pride.

I warmly invite you and your family to participate in Buffalo State's special celebration of your achievement, the Master's and Certificate of Advanced Study Ceremony and reception on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.

Commencement is our campuswide ceremony that celebrates your graduation. The 2013 Commencement ceremony honors December 2012 and January 2013 graduates, potential May 2013 degree or certificate of advanced study (C.A.S.) candidates, and potential August 2013 degree or C.A.S. candidates.

A master's degree or C.A.S. candidate is a student who has in progress the courses necessary to complete his or her degree requirements and has also submitted a master's degree/C.A.S. application through the Graduate School Office by the appropriate deadline. The Graduate School Office will review your records and notify you of any graduation deficiencies you may have.

Students eligible to participate in the 2013 Commencement will receive the Commencement informational postcard at their permanent addresses during spring recess (March 25-30, 2013).

The links on this page direct you to answers to specific questions you may have. Please also use the contact information on the main page, www.buffalostate.edu/commencement, should you have further questions.

Please know that "graduation" occurs only after you complete all your degree requirements. The graduation audit and ordering of your transcripts may take several months, after which The Graduate School will mail your diploma to your permanent address.

I hope Commencement leads you to a new level of involvement with Buffalo State. The Buffalo State Alumni Association invites you to enjoy your membership and welcomes your ideas and your participation in professional networking, as well as social and educational activities.

With best wishes for happiness in all your future endeavors.

Dennis Ponton, Ph.D.
