Volunteers
Thank you to the many faculty and staff who volunteer each year to usher on commencement day, a celebration of student accomplishment and an occasion in which every member of the Buffalo State community takes great pride.
So that the day runs smoothly and to provide an enjoyable atmosphere for our graduates and guests, MANY volunteers are needed to usher guests into the arena, assist with handicapped seating, assist with the graduate lineup and processional, assist in the Robing Room, distribute programs, take tickets, etc. Your participation as a volunteer in one or more ceremonies is critical to this success and most appreciated!

Volunteers Register
Online registration for 2012 will open in a few weeks. Once registration is open, you may view the list of currently registered ushers as it is updated (periodically). E-mail the Events Management Office with any questions about commencement volunteering or changes to your registration.
Rehearsals
A rehearsal for volunteers is scheduled for Thursday, May 10, 3:00--4:00 p.m. in the Sports Arena. The volunteer's role on commencement day is to assist graduates and their guests. Specific instructions and assignments will be given during the rehearsal.

Commencement Day Reporting Times
Volunteer ushers and graduate lineup ushers please report for ceremonies at the following times on commencement day:
10:00 am. Bachelor's morning ceremony
Report no later than 8:30 a.m.
(doors for guests open at 9:00 a.m.)
2:00 p.m. Bachelor's afternoon ceremony
Report no later than 12:30 p.m.
(doors for guests open at 1:00 p.m.)
6:00 p.m. Master's/C.A.S. ceremony
Report no later than 4:30 p.m.
(doors open for guests at 5:00 p.m.)
Instructions for all ceremonies on Commencement day
Enter the Houston Gym and report to the main gymnasium on the second floor of the building. Be sure to sign in and pick up your name tag and arena map at the volunteer registration table at the top of the stairs.
Light hospitality will be available throughout the day for your convenience.
