You, the graduate, will be in the spotlight on commencement day. Also, this marks a significant occasion for your family and friends who have supported you through years of growth and hard work.
Buffalo State faculty and staff take great pride in student accomplishments as well. Our commencement celebration offers you the opportunity to recognize in a special way a few individuals who have contributed to your success.
Please take a few moments to think about Buffalo State faculty and staff members who have made a difference to you-perhaps an inspiring professor, an extra-helpful adviser, or an exceptional staff person.
Complete and send special commencement invitations (PDF, 122KB) to these individuals, asking them to participate in your ceremony. Invitations are available on this site and in the bookstore.
You can send these invitations today! Faculty and staff who intend to march or volunteer must register by April 29. So you need to invite them even sooner! (Remember, guest ticket distribution doesn't begin until April 13 so don't wait.)
Note to students: Sending these faculty/staff invitations will not change the number of guest tickets you are allotted for your family to attend the ceremony.
Note to faculty and staff: Should you wish to attend a ceremony in the Sports Arena but do not intend to march or usher, you must obtain a guest ticket from a graduate to be admitted.
