The Communication Department invites honor and dean's list students, those in advanced placement courses, and students attending public or private high schools with high-achieving college-prep programs.

Our department has a reputation for high-touch, in-depth education. Buffalo State communication students work one-on-one with their professors. Our emphasis is undergraduate education. Our students are taught by full-time professors and highly-qualified media professionals, not graduate students.
Leadership and Development
Communication students are consistently among the top achievers on campus: officers in student government, scholar-athletes, leaders in student media and other campus organizations.
We have many opportunities for student scholarship and professional development. A communicatin student had his music video aired on MTV in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Several students have been hired into full-time communication jobs even before they graduate.
All in all, the Buffalo State Communication Department is an excellent training ground for students with the talent, ambition and drive to make it work.
