Internship class

Students registered in COM 488 must attend the weekly class meeting. Make sure that your semester schedule does not include time conflicts with this class. The purpose of this class is to provide a forum for all Communication interns to review progress in their internship and to discuss problems, highlights and opportunities. Some class meetings will be devoted to building skills toward writing résumés, interviewing, networking, and so on.

Exceptions to the weekly meeting are made for students interning out of the Western New York area, students doing internships during the summer term (for which alternative arrangements will be made), and students are repeating the internship for credit.

Grading

The course grade is determined on the following criteria:
60% ... Evaluation by professional supervisor (criteria to be determined in consultation between student and professional supervisor)
40% ... Evaluation by academic supervisor (criteria includes weekly progress reports, attendance at class and workshops, final report/evaluation)
