Academics
- Justin Vernold and Carla Young (Journalism) participated in the Dow-Jones summer internship in 2007
- Tiffany Ciolek (Communicatino Studies), Siobhan McCollum (Communication Studies) and Krista Wierzbicki (Public Communication) were among eight recipients of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence among graduates in 2004
- A.C. Adornatto (Journalism 2000) served as student speaker at graduation ceremonies
- Amy Strauss (Journalism) participated in the Dow-Jones online internship in 1998
- Michelle Dollinger, Mary Pasciak and John Maloney (Journalism) participated in Buffalo News internships
- Faizan Haq (Master's candidate in Public Relations Management) has published a book review on "Islam Under Siege: Living Dangerously in a Post-Honor World." The review was published by the World Security Network. (Spring 2004)
Professional
- Aaron MacPherson (Broadcasting, 2004) directed and produced a video broadcast during Spring 2004 on MTV2 ("Headbanger's Ball"), MTV Europe, and Fuse (a music cable network in Canada). The video is a performance of "We Are Those People" by the band Herod. The video also is part of a DVD being released by SONY Music.
College and Community Service
- Michael St. Rose (Public Communication) was elected President of United Students Government for 2007-08. He previously served as USG treasurer
- Todd Espinosa (Broadcasting, 2004) was elected as President of United Students Govermment for 2004-05. He previously served as USG vice president. (Spring 2004)
Athletics
- Krista Wierzbicki (Public Communication, 2004) was named to the Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Second Team (College Sports Information directors of America recognition for GPA of 3.9, starting setter and team captain. She also holds Buffalo State's single season record (2003-4) for 1,247 assists and the school career record for 3,821 assists and 205 aces. (Fall 2003)
