Lecturer Named to Public Radio Board

A former Communication student and part-time instructor, Gabe DiMaio, has been appointed to the Public Radio Program Director's board of directors. PRPD is the programming arm of national public radio, with 200 member stations.

DiMaio is a part-time lecturer in the Communication Department. He also is assistant program director and producer with WBFO, which is based at the University at Buffalo.

While a broadcasting undergrad at Buffalo State College, DiMaio worked at WBNY-FM, the college radio station. He interned at WKBW-AM and worked at WGR-AM/FM while still in college. He later worked in radio in New York City. After military service with the U.S. Marines in the Middle East, he returned to radio, working in Long Island, Buffalo and Texas. In 2001, he graduated from the UB Law School and joined the staff of WBFO.

DiMaio has been a lecturer in the Buffalo State Communication Department since 2001, teaching courses in media literacy, communication law, and broadcast copywriting.
