Careers for Communication Studies Majors
Because this major was established only in 2002, few graduates have emerged yet from this program. However, one reason the the major was established was to address the interests of previous students who realized that, while they were in one of the professional majors, they did not intend to pursue a career in broadcasting, journalism or public relations. Instead, they sought a more liberal arts approach to communication as the foundation for their future. Some students wanted to go to graduate school in an area such as law, management, education or theology. Others planned to enter the business world, often building on career paths that opened up to them while they worked part-time during college.
