YGB
YGB Radio
YGB is a news and public affairs radio program produced by "young, gifted and black" Buffalo-area high school students. It is sponsored by the Buffalo Association of Black Journalists with technical assistance from the Communication Department.
The program was created to allow teens to cover the news from their perspective, while giving adult listeners a view of life in the community that they would not otherwise get. It also exposes students to job opportunities in the media and creates a pool of potential journalists who can help diversify Western New York newsrooms.
The program airs at 6 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month on WHLD 1270-AM, with a rebroadcast at 6 p.m. on the third Saturday. It also is archived through the Communication Department and Bengal News Online.
