New Fund for Students Established
Department Establishes Fund for Students
Everyone knows that college can be a financial strain for students, but the Communication Department is trying to do something about it.
The "Student Enrichment Fund" has been established to help defer educational costs for students in need. Based on support from faculty and alumni contriubtions, the fund helps cover costs for student travel to conferences and seminars, equipment, books, events and additional items as needed. It is administered through the existing Student Enrichment Committee, which is also charged with choosing scholarship recipients and stewarding the department's chapter of the national communication honor society, Lambda Pi Eta.
The majority of Buffalo State College's full-time students hold paying jobs, and those in Communication Department are no different. The costs for students -- in time, effort and expense -- are huge, but the costs of not going to college are greater. If you are able, please help our students make the most of their education.
To contribute to the Student Enrichment fund, complete this form, where you will find the fund listed on the continued page in the drop-down menu under "designation."
