Accreditation

The professional majors (Journalism, Media Production, Public Communication) are recognized by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications.

Buffalo State is the only public institution in the state with accreditation, which is held by only 15 percent of all schools offering communication degrees. Full accreditation was given in May 2010.
