"The Creative Studies program pushes you to open your mind to all of the possibilities that exist around you."
As a multidisciplinary major, Kim Miloshevski wasn't sure what she was getting herself into by registering for an introductory Creative Studies course at Buffalo State College. As she learned more from Dr. Gerard Puccio, Director and Professor at the International Center for Studies in Creativity, Kim found the subject matter to be very powerful and became quite enthusiastic about it. The following semester she signed on for a second Creative Studies course and finally dropped her multidisciplinary status and opted for a full Creative Studies degree.
Already a positive thinker, Kim found that her studies in creativity provided her with concrete measures for dealing with personal and professional challenges that she faced. As an intermediate level French teacher, Kim strives to create a classroom environment that is conducive to high student success. Kim's skills and knowledge acquired as part of the graduate program has helped her to dramatically reduce the occurrence of disruptive behavior and led to greater achievement in her classroom.
The Creative Studies program has provided Kim with a new found confidence. She is now a new teacher mentor and on the executive board for the Western New York Foreign Language Educators Council. Her coursework, learning, and research have touched the lives of her students as well as countless other individuals.
"Most people assume that Creative Studies is something reserved for the business world- not so. So much of Creative Studies can be used in schools on a daily basis."
