When you add a class that is full (where a waitlist is available) to your enrollment cart, you will be offered a position on the waitlist. If you choose to be on the waitlist, the class will appear on your schedule as the status “waitlist”, NOT “enrolled”.
If students drop the class, you may move up the waitlist. Number “1” is the highest number on the waitlist. If you are “1”, and an enrolled student drops the class, you may become automatically enrolled (the status will change on your schedule). Students are responsible for monitoring their waitlist/enrolled status for all classes on their schedule.
Be careful to not depend on getting into waitlisted classes. There is no guarantee you will get into a class, even if you are “1.” Talk to your advisor to determine the best strategy for your schedule to keep you on your academic path.
WAITLISTS
- Students’ can view courses they are on a waitlist for (and their number on the waitlist) by viewing their schedule.
- A Student’s number on the waitlist may change due to many reasons.
- If the student moves to the top of the list and a seat opens, they will be automatically enrolled in the course.
- If enrolled from a waitlist the course status on their schedule will change from “waitlisted” to “enrolled.”
- It is a student’s responsibility to monitor their waitlist status.
- Students’ should drop courses they do not plan to take.
- If a student is enrolled and waitlisted for more than the credit hour maximum (19 hours for undergraduate, 11 hours for non-degree), they WILL be dropped from their waitlisted courses.
- If a student joins a waitlist and then changes their major, they WILL be removed from the waitlist if they no longer qualify for the course prerequisite.
- There is no guarantee you will be enrolled from your waitlisted class.
