Alumni Aid in Katrina Relief
Many of our alumni have had an important role in the restoration of artifacts and buildings damaged by Hurricane Katrina. With support from AASLH (The American Association for State and Local History) and FEMA, the following alumni were able to help as HEART (History Emergency Assistance Recovery Team) members.

Several alumni have been working at Beauvoir (pictured before and after the hurricane to the left) and the Jefferson Davis Presidential Library which suffered heavy damage from Hurricane Katrina. Artifact search and recovery has already begun, with restoration to begin soon. |
