GPR experience

This component of the workshop will include a short technical introduction and hands-on demonstrations of ground penetrating radar (GPR) technology in the field.  The technical presentation will introduce the fundamentals of GPR theory, discuss contemporary methodologies, and identify the limitations of GPR surveying.  Several different survey designs will be discussed with respect to project objectives and logistical constraints.  Participants will have the opportunity to operate a GPR system, collect data in real-time, view processed data from the Hull House site, and be challenged with interpreting real geophysical data.  Common pitfalls of GPR data interpretation will also be highlighted.
