We are now the proud owners of a Kodak ACR 2000 computed radiography system! Thanks to the generosity of Buffalo State College, Dan Kushel (’76) recently oversaw the installation of this state-of-the-art equipment. It includes an impressive set of imaging plates (up to 60” in length), and provides nearly instant images with far greater dynamic range than film. Dan will soon be instructing students in using this digital x-ray system for all types of objects, as well as for beta-radiography. We hope to use this page to showcase this new equipment and how our students are using it.
The machine is housed in our technical examination lab. In this photo, Dan Kushel is preparing a printout.
Ariel O'Connor, a second year student, prepares to take an image of a Chinese Roof Sun Diety.
This unique object, owned by the Buffalo Museum of Science, was the focus of Ariel's 695 specialization project.
