FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS -
RETURNING STUDENT CONCERNS
LOCATION: Home -> Information for Campuses -> FAQ -> Returning Students
Registration
How do students register for their first term back on campus?
Most returning NSE students are able to register by touch tone telephone, World Wide Web, or by mail in the same time frame as the home institution's currently enrolled students. (see NSE Handbook Sections 18.2.2 and 18.2.3)

Credit for Courses
How is work taken at the host campus credited to the student's degree program?
The student is responsible for having an official transcript sent to the home campus. A signed advising agreement prior to leaving the campus ensures acceptance of the work back into the student's program. (see NSE Handbook Sections 14.8, 15.9.4, and 18.2.4)

Transcript
How should work from the host campus show on the home transcript?
Under a consortium agreement, work completed on exchange must be credited back to the student's academic program at his/her home college or university. Transcript policies vary from campus to campus. Most campuses will show the courses by name, number, credit hours, and grades indicating that the courses were taken at the host school while on the National Student Exchange. A few campuses do not show the grades. Most campuses calculate the work taken at the host campuses into the cumulative GPA. (see NSE Handbook Section 18.2.4)
