NSE Handbook
The primary obligation for a campus is the commitment to administer the
campus NSE program in accordance with the policies and procedures
detailed in the NSE Handbook.
Campus Coordinator
NSE requires a campus to appoint an NSE campus coordinator. It is that
person's responsibility to develop the program, maintain working
relations with other administrative offices, promote the program and
prepare students for exchange. The coordinator also serves as the
host for incoming students. As the link between NSE and the campus,
the coordinator is the key to having a successful program. Depending
on the size of the campus and the number of participants, the position
takes from 10% to 20% of a person's time.
Coordinators come from a wide variety of offices on member campuses,
including: study abroad, honors programs, academic advising, enrollment
management, student activities or development, special programs, academic
affairs, or multicultural programs.
NSE Conference
The campus coordinator is required to attend the annual conference
where the vast majority of students are placed for exchange. In-service
training, panel presentations, and consortium business are also conducted
at the conference.
"I think of NSE as the ultimate expression of undergraduate
educational opportunity."
