The show Elaborate Paper will exhibit selected experimental student projects developed this semester in a cooperation between the interior design sophomore studio Spatial Experiments and the fiber design junior studio taught by associate professors Jörg Schnier and Jozef Bajus.
On display will be a huge variety of small paper texture samples exploring the aesthetic and structural properties of paper products. Building on this design research, the students are currently in the process of designing wearable sculptures. Elaborate Paper is on display through October 26. Exhibition: Visual Books
All day | E. H. Butler Library Showcases in Lower Lobby | Permalink
What fits into the palm of your hand and has eight pages, a hard cover, and not a word? A visual book, sometimes called an artist's book! Come and see examples of visual books created by students in Carol Townsend's Introduction to Two-Dimensional Design class. Topics of the books include time, ballet, ancient travel, op art, and dance. These selected pieces will be on display until October 12 at which time they will be replaced by a second group of these special visual treats. Viewable during regular library hours.
