Jesse Walp began his design studies at Mississippi State University, and then went on to study Furniture Design and Woodworking at the Rochester Institute of Technology where he earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture. 

After graduate school he traveled the country teaching and exhibiting at various community art centers as a resident artist. He began teaching foundation design courses at Buffalo State in the fall of 2011. In this last year Jesse was chosen to participate in Extraordinary Forms III at the Kenan Center, as well as the Craft Art Exhibition at the Burchfield Penney, and also had his work acquired by the Burchfield Penney and placed in their permanent collection. 

Over the summer he created multiple outdoor installations as well as a large-scale, permanent, interactive installation at ArtPark, their first in nearly a decade. Jesse is an avid maker creating both sculpture and furniture. More information about him and his work can be found at www.jessewalp.com.
