Transfer Credit and Course Waivers
The college evaluates all credit hours previously earned by transfer students and records all the major and general requirements satisfied by the student. Students can also request transfer credit for additional department courses if they can prove that they have taken an equivalent course at another institution. Contact the department for a copy of the written policy.
According to department policy, students submit a course description and syllabus for review. The faculty reviews the material and a decision is made on whether to accept the course taken in another institution or have the student take the course. In some cases students are given an option of either taking the course or taking an examination, passing which will exempt them from the course. Students can also petition to the department for a course waiver.
Supervised practice coursework from other programs is accepted only as elective credit. It does not transfer or decrease the CPD supervised practice requirements. Any inquiries may be forwarded to the department at (7160 878-5913.
