Students with disabilities are expected to follow the attendance requirements of all courses in which they are enrolled. From time to time a student with a disability must miss class because of an unavoidable medical emergency or extended illness. In such cases, students should notify the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students who will notify faculty about the extended absence. Proper documentation is necessary to justify the absences. The instructor in each course will determine the appropriate action to be taken as a result of the absence. In some cases an incomplete grade (I) may be appropriate. In other cases the student may withdraw from the class, take a medical leave or withdraw from the college.
