Directories.  These are mostly links to other links, including links to full-text articles and working paper series, data and research.  The goal of WebEc, for example, is to improve communication among all scholars of the economy.  Many Research Institutes and advocacy groups maintain extensive, categorized links, as well.

Associations. These are associations of more or less like-minded economists.  They often explain their perspectives succinctly and provide interesting links.  The largest is the mainstream, American Economics Association, which also maintains the Job Openings for Economists site.

Research Institutes. Research Institutes always advocate something.  Each has a particular econmic or social, political or philosophical perspective.  Many explicitly advocate for this perspective. 

News & Views.  Find here, sources of economic and financial news, informed opinion and advocacy.  Useful research as well as argumentation can often be found in both news and advocacy sites.
