ELEMENTARY EDUCATION AND READING

Prospective First-Year Students
Prospective first-year students interested in entering the childhood education programs at Buffalo State must apply through the Undergraduate Admissions Office. Students interested in the childhood education programs are accepted as childhood-undeclared majors (CEDW). Once enrolled, they must meet additional departmental requirements for admission into the pre-elementary education program (ELEW) and then into a full major.

Transfer Students
Students transferring from other institutions of higher education, interested in entering the childhood education programs at Buffalo State, must apply through the Undergraduate Admissions Office.  Students meeting the departmental requirements are accepted directly into the pre-elementary education major (ELEW). Once enrolled, students must meet additional departmental requirements for admission into the full major program of their choice.

Students with excellent academic backgrounds may be interested in the All College Honors Program. Academically or financially disadvantaged students should see if the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) fits their needs. The Financial Aid Office helps all students with loans, grants, and scholarships.
