Science: Two science courses are being offered this summer as part of the Physics Summer Academy. Because this is a grant-funded program the students in these classes will take home some classroom supplies and curriculum. Either of these courses fulfills the science requirement in the 6210 Curriculum and Instruction program. You may take either course separately or choose to take both courses and use the EDU 671 course as an elective. Both courses will be jointly taught by Dr. David Henry and Dr. Marie Plumb (Jamestown Community College). The courses are:

This course centers around child studies and completing your own child study. Many science ideas are taught and discussed.PHY 507, Physics for Elementary Teachers

If you want to gain more confidence in teaching science, this course is for you. PHY 507 is physics class, but don't let that scare you! It is a great course for elementary teachers because we focus on building ideas that are fundamental to elementary science.
