Lorna Perez is an Assistant Professor of English, teaching courses in Ethnic
Minority Literatures of the United States, Women's Literature, Contemporary
Literature, and American Literature. She received her doctorate from the
University at Buffalo in 2008 where she wrote a dissertation on Latina
literature and the architecture of empire. She specializes in Latina/o
literature though her research interests also include Ethnic Literatures of
the United States, Postcolonialism, Feminism, and Borderland theory. She is
currently working on a book manuscript entitled (Un)Homely Spaces: US
Latinas, Empire, and Nation. She is the faculty advisor and sponsor of the
Alpha Pi Chi chapter of Sigma Tau Delta (the International English Honor
Society) here at Buffalo State.
