Buffalo State's new Technology Building houses the departments of Engineering Technology, Fashion and Textile Technology and Computer Information Systems, and provides research spaces and student computer labs. This "green" building has a vegetated lower roof area and a photovoltaic collector on its upper roof.

In June 2014, Buffalo State's Technology Building was recognized by Buffalo Business First  with a Brick by Brick Award in the category of Best Green Building.  The awards honor Western New York accomplishments in real estate and development.
