TEACH PROGRAM

Students that received funds through the U.S. Department of Education’s Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grant (TEACH Grant) Program are required to complete TEACH exit counseling.  Since TEACH Grants convert to loans if the service requirement is not completed, all TEACH recipients must receive TEACH Grant exit counseling at www.nslds.ed.gov/nslds_sa.  Students need to select SUNY COLLEGE AT BUFFALO (00284200) from the schools list. TEACH exit counseling is required when any of the following conditions are met:

  • The TEACH grant recipient graduates.
  • The TEACH grant recipient ceases attendance at Buffalo State.
    • An exit is required even if the student transfers to another school.
  • The TEACH grant recipient changes majors into an ineligible TEACH program.

Students will be notified in writing at their permanent address when TEACH exit counseling is required.  Students that fail to complete the online session will be sent a PDF version of the counseling materials.  Students are strongly encouraged to complete the session online as it contains student-specific information.

The exit counseling session on NSLDS will walk the student through the following:
