Errors in completing aid applications can create long delays in the processing of a student's aid and even prevent a student from receiving aid. It is prudent to review the check lists to see that you have avoided the most common errors on the federal and state aid applications.
The main aid applications are:
- The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) - used for applying for federal grants, work-study and loans.
- The Express TAP Application (ETA) - used for applying for the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP).
- The Aid for Part-Time Study Application (APTS) - used for the New York State need grant for part-time students.
