Philip Ogle earned his BFA at MCAD and MFA at the Rinehart School for Sculpture, Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, MD.  He served as Chair of Fine Arts at the College of Visual Art, St. Paul, MN, where he was instrumental in the development of that institution.  He has exhibited large-scale, installation sculptural works at the Walker Art Center and the Minneapolis Institute of Art.  His work is currently displayed in various public and private collections, including the University of Northern Iowa Library.

Ogle has numerous awards and honors, including Bush Fellowship, Emily Rothschild Award, Henry Walters European Fellowship, Ethel VanDerlip Award, Fellowship and Faculty Development Grants.  He has taught drawing, encaustics and fresco at workshops in  Italy.
