Introduction to physical anthropology and archaeology. Physical anthropology portion focuses on evolutionary theory and genetics., the human fossil record, and the study of non-human primates. Archaeology reconstructs past cultures. Discusses the basics of archaeological data and dating methods. Transformation from hunting-and-gathering lifestyle to one based on food production and the consequences of this transformation, which include in some instances the development of complex sociopolitical institutions and state societies.

The impact of Information Technology (IT) on social, ethical, legal, economic, privacy, intellectual property and personal issues.  Contemporary issues and challenges as affected by historical IT developments (internet, databases, networks, communications, etc.).  Students will use current technology in order to support investigations of relevant topics, and to communicate findings.

Students learn to recognize and nurture creative potential.  Focus on four aspects of creativity:  the creative person, the creative process, the creative product, and the creative environment.  Further emphasis on the interactive nature of these elements and individual application in personal and professional settings.
