James Robert Bensley

Mr. Bensley is a planning practitioner and member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. In his role as Senior Planner for the Orleans County Department of Planning and Development, Mr. Bensley evaluates proposals for the short and long-term physical development of land and offers technical assistance to municipalities that seek to adopt, revise and administer land use policy. His professional interests and involvement include growth management, comprehensive planning, site analysis, zoning and land use law and legislation, citizen participation, standardized training for land use officials, and inter-municipal cooperation.

He teaches Introduction to Community Planning (PLN 315), as well as courses in zoning, housing, and land resource analysis.
