Graduate Student Association

Graduate Student Association

The Buffalo State Graduate Student Association (GSA) was established with the consideration that there is a constant and imminent need to provide for the representation of graduate students and the promotion of graduate students' interests on this campus.  The nature of graduate study requires that a governing body be established which will not unduly burden the individual graduate student who would like to participate and will answer to the students of the different academic disciplines.  Furthermore, reasonable procedures must be established to guarantee the fair and responsible representation of all graduate students.

A mandatory graduate student fee of $2.22 per credit hour has been approved by over 76% of the voting students.  The budget created by this fee will be used to help provide funding support for research and scholarship, participation in professional organizations, travel expenses for professional purposes, and other professional development opportunities.

This website is designed to make information on GSA structures, activities, and resources easily available.  It is important to us, in a school with such a large number of graduate students in widely differing departments and programs on a campus with social facilities for mixing together across disciplinary borders, that the GSA be open to all its constituents.  One of our strengths is, GSA believes, the enormous diversity of professional and life experiences, ethnic backgrounds, nationalities, intellectual skills and cultural interests among graduate students at Buffalo State.  We welcome and encourage your involvement in the Association.

Please contact the GSA at buffalostategsa@gmail.com or through their Facebook group:  www.facebook.com/BuffaloStateGSA
