By studying health and wellness, you’ll learn how to:
- Develop effective health and wellness programs for employees, community members, and other adult groups
- Demonstrate how exercise, nutrition, weight control, and stress management promote health
- Benefit employers by developing workplace safety and wellness practices
- Educate people regarding the causes, prevention, and management of disease
- Use knowledge of general anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics to customize exercise programs for fitness, metabolism, and weight control
- Develop a sense of professionalism by participating in applied academic activities including scholarship, networking, community service, and related disciplinary conference activities
The B.S. in health and wellness program also provides students with the skills and opportunity to pursue research, scholarship, grant, and publication activities; design, implement, and evaluate community service projects; participate in local, state, and national disciplinary conferences; interact with professionals in all domains of health promotion; structure a professional portfolio; explore post graduate employment and education options; and self-govern through the Health and Wellness Students Association and Health and Wellness Alumni Chapter.
