Lucy M. Schwartz researches French and Francophone female novelists of the 19th and 20th centuries. She published a critical edition of George Sand's Le Secrétaire intime (1834) with Les Editions de l'Aurore, a Grenoble-based publisher. She is the author of numerous book chapters and articles. She is currently completing an English translation of Le Secrétaire intime.
