First-time Freshmen
To qualify, high school students must have a grade point average (GPA) of 90 or higher (or rank within the top 10 percent of their graduating class) and have SAT scores of 1100 or higher and/or ACT Composite of 24 or higher. Advanced Placement courses with grades of B or better, cocurricular activities, and community involvement also are considered.
To be considered for this special program, first-time freshmen must apply to Buffalo State by March 1. The Buffalo State admissions committee will send accepted students who qualify for the honors program a supplemental All College Honors Program application.

Transfer Students
Transfer students who are participants in honors programs at community colleges must have fulfilled the requirements of those programs. Other transfer students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher also may be invited to apply; acceptance is based on a combination of high school and college records. A minimum combined SAT score of 1100 or higher, and/or ACT Composite of 24 or higher is required. Cocurricular activities and community involvement also are considered.
