INSTITUTE FOR EUROPEAN UNION STUDIES AT SUNY
 

Founded in 2003, the Institute for European Union Studies at SUNY (IEUSS) is a SUNY-wide institute serving the State University of New York. 

Who are we?
The IEUSS is comprised of a  network of EU scholars and international officers serving SUNY and  the State of New York.  IEUSS operates under the auspices of  SUNY Global Center, which is located at 116 East 55th St. New York, NY.   Buffalo State hosts the  IEUSS  campus office and website.  SUNY New Paltz hosts the SUNY Model EU Office.

 

MISSION

The Institute for European Union Studies (IEUSS)  promotes the study of the European Union throughout SUNY and the State of New York through five core activities:

 

facilitating research focusing on the European Union

supporting and promoting the teaching of the European Union at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels

serving as a network of EU specialists throughout SUNY

promoting outreach to the constituencies served by SUNY units

identifying and pursuing resources to ensure sustainability of EU programming throughout SUNY

 
  

 
The Power of SUNY


 



 

The SUNY Model European Union office, a signature program of SUNY and the Institute, is located at SUNY New Paltz.

Students assume member state "alter egos" as part of the SUNY Model EU.  SUNY campuses have hosted a Model EU since 1988.
