I Have a Bachelor's

If you already have your bachelor's degree, there are several ways to become a teacher in New York State.

1. If you are interested in teaching at the early childhood or childhood levels (pre-kindergarten through grade 6), consider applying to the M.S.Ed. including initial teaching certification program in early childhood education or M.S.Ed. including initial teaching certification program in childhood education. An undergraduate major in one of the liberal arts and sciences, as well as other requirements, is necessary for admission.

2. Or, you could build on the area you have your bachelor's degree in—let's say, art or a science area, or business—and take a postbaccalaureate teacher certification-only program:
