FIve-Acre Site, Building Acquired

Buffalo State recently purchased property from Ruslander & Sons, located adjacent to campus at 175 Dart Street, west of Grant Street. The 5.2-acre site includes an 88,752 square-foot building with recently renovated office space, conference rooms, a kitchen in front, and a large warehouse in back.

The building may house some functions now in Clinton Center, shipping and receiving activities, or public-safety services, according to Stan Medinac, associate vice president for facilities planning and institutional studies. The site also provides “a significant amount of property” that may be used for additional parking spaces, he added.

The college is asking the State University of New York Construction Fund to begin a program study immediately to explore how the site can best be used. The design phase will begin in about a year, once the study is completed.
