Barbara Bontempo, professor, English, conducted professional development sessions for Buffalo Public Schools English teachers on "Parent Involvement and the New York State English Language Arts Learning Standards" at the Buffalo Teacher Resource Center on October 30 and November 6. She also co-presented the workshop "Urban and Rural Family Literacy and the English Language Arts: Parents, Students, Educators Working Together" at the 93rd annual convention of the National Council of Teachers of English in San Francisco, California, November 20–25.
