More About Finding Articles

There are lots of ways to find articles at Buffalo State. Periodical databases search a number of journals for articles and are a good place to start. You can try a general database or use our subject guides to identify one that is specific to a topic. Online journals are simply electronic versions of print journals. Print journals can be found in the library arranged alphabetically by their title. Need more help finding articles? Contact us!

If the periodical database you search doesn't provide a full-text article:

  • Look for the Can I Get This Item Online? button for links to full-text articles, if available, links to the library catalog to see if we subscribe to the print version of the periodical, and other useful links.

  • Look for the periodical title in our list of online journals to see if it is available in another database.

  • Look for the periodical title in our list of print & microfilm journals to see if it is available in print or microfilm format within Butler Library.

  • If Butler Library doesn't have the article, request it through our interlibrary loan service. Ask at the Reference Desk for further information.
