Government Resources
    Biological Resources Division
    This division of the U.S. Geological Survey works with others to provide scientific understanding and technologies needed to support management and conservation of our nation's biological resources. One important project is the National Biological Information Infrastructure, a network of resources on biological data and information.

    Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
    This agency of the Department of Health and Human Services is responsible for protecting the health and safety of people at home and abroad, and providing information to enhance health decisions.

    National Human Genome Research Institute
    Provides background information about the Human Genome Project and the stunning announcement of a working draft of the sequence of the human genome, the genetic blueprint for a human being.
