    American Civil Liberties Union
    The ACLU is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization devoted exclusively to protecting the basic civil liberties of all Americans, and extending them to groups that have traditionally been denied them. This site is an excellent source of legal materials relating to the rights of individuals in our society.

    FindLaw
    A popular commercial site, FindLaw provides access to a large library of legal resources for use by legal professionals, students, consumers, and small businesses. Included are links to law school information, legal news, and a Supreme Court Center dedicated to the U.S. Constitution and the U.S. Supreme Court.

    Legal Information Institute
    This site from Cornell Law School has its own search engine and provides an easy to use format for individuals who are not expert researchers of U.S. legal documents.

    Librarians' Internet Index : Law
    This site is a searchable subject directory of Internet resources selected and evaluated by librarians for both the student and professional.

      The CFR is a codification of the rules published in the Federal Register.
    • Government Printing Office
      The U.S. Government Printing Office provides free electronic access to data produced by the Federal Government. Look here for a wealth of information including the Federal Register and The Code of Federal Regulations.
    • Office of the Law Revision Counsel: United States Code
      The Office of the Law Revision Counsel prepares and publishes the United States Code, which is a consolidation and codification by subject matter of the general and permanent laws of the United States.
    • OYEZ
      The OYEZ Project provides access to more than 2,000 hours of Supreme Court audio. All audio in the Court recorded since 1995 is included in the project, with selective coverage before 1995. Audio materials are delivered through a free player available from Real. Simply download and install the free version of the player for your operating system.
    • Supreme Court of the United States
      This site includes information about the Supreme Court, cases on the Supreme Court docket, information on visiting the Court, oral arguments and more. The section entitled "Opinions" contains texts of the latest Slip Opinions, and online versions of the full-text of the Court's opinions back to Volume 502 (October 1991) of United States Reports.

    • New York State Government Information Locator Service
      The NYS GILS provides a single point of access to information services provided by New York State government agencies, the State Legislature, and the Judiciary. This site is hosted by the New York State Library.
    • New York State Legislature
      An excellent link for information about the current legislative session. Also includes a subject index to the laws of New York State.
    • New York State Unified Court System
      Provides a wide selection of links including legal forms, juror information, a guide to the courts, and legal research.
    • Opinions of the Attorney General
      Interested in the opinions of the Attorney General of New York State? Look here.
