    Baker's Biographical Dictionary of Musicians
    An authoritative brief-entry biographical dictionary, this six-volume source exceeds 4,000 pages and contains entries on composers, musicians, ethnomusicologists, and more. Some of the entries have a list of the individual's works, and a brief bibliography of additional relevant sources. Coverage includes people associated with classical music as well as jazz, pop, rock, and blues.

    This is an excellent eight-volume work that contains entries on thousands of rock, pop, jazz performers, and bands. A brief discography is usually appended to each article.
