Really wanted darkness
Nothing deep
Nothing sappy
Just some God damn sleep
The prolonged darkness tells them
That this may help
This may help make the day better
But they were given no gifts
Still grays
A lot of time out widows
A lot of time on doors
A lot of time
No satiety
No "Thanks!" for them to give because
Because
Florescent and real
A well needed a break
Wasn't given
Really wanted
Darkness
Tell 'em the day will be alright
Just make it all right.

A Romance Told me I should
