Poems:

Evening Red

I wake,
Dress my flesh in evening Red
until the grand light
dims? and
through the sky I write
Red in evening Red

Descends from his black cloud,
the King of time
Flashes before my glittered eyes
a clock, he says
I?m a little bright for day?s light
Loud for nine to five-
Go inside

Ignoring the warning
I dance wildly, joyfully
tossing my cranberry hair
In the streets I dance away
the day in evening Red

by (prep.) 1. near in space; beside; at: just like how your face waited by mine in the chill of the brown carpet sprinkled with bits of lint, our cheeks textured with rug impressions. To break silences we became experts on each other?s eyes so we pointed out every shred of color, every dash of line done from the finest paintbrush, your fingertips so close by mine that I thought they might have brushed some sort of indication that it?s time 2. in or during the time of: When we still haven?t met lips, I explained my theory on time. I tell him that by three sunrises, I will have finished a multicolored clock with many hands pointing in all directions, indicating that time is confused when really the confusion is all mine. Through art I am reinventing numbers; why live by clocks when we could wake by sun and nap by sleepy eyes- I want to kiss you by sunrise if I?m not a little too much by then. 3. through, along, or over: so I sailed by the yellow-orange rivers in your eyes of greenest waters, I sailed by your ex lovers and splashed them as they only dipped their nail polished toes in. At some spots I saw us walking by each other and how we missed monarch butterflies with green painted wings every time, 4. in behalf of: because we were distracted by sudden car horns or by screaming children because it wasn?t the right shade of sky to gather enough confidence to even say ?hi.?
