PUBLICATIONS (POETRY ZINES)
An annotated bibliography of on-line poetry zines and writing resources designed to assist poets in finding appropriate sites to submit their work. The following zines and resources were chosen based upon quality of content, usefulness to the poet, and aesthetic appeal.
2 River View

Published four times a year, 2 River View, accepts poems and essays on "poetic influence, the landscape of contemporary poetry, and poetic theory" for consideration. Each issue consists of only 10 poets. 2 River also accepts chapbook manuscripts for review. Links to other quality zines included on site. Online since 1996.
3rd bed

Emphasis on "work informed by a surreal or absurdist aesthetic." Accepts fiction, poetry, hypermedia, and translations. Special interest in prose poems and "work that blurs me distinction between genres." Submissions accepted by e-mail or post.
3rd Muse Poetry Journal http://www.3rdmuse.com
Based in Australia, accepts original, previously unpublished poems of any length form or style, with selection criteria "resting solely on quality." Poems with strong imagery and voice are especially encouraged.
A Little Poetry

A great ziae for those new to me publishing scene-dedicated to presenting a wide variety of contemporary poetry from around the world. Poets are able to set up their own poet page/mini web site.
Big Bridge

Clickable Poems

The submission page states "we're not looking for any particular style or format-poets are responsible for poetry, not poetry editors." Submissions of printed poems, translations, sound performances, and hypertext poems are encouraged.

A well established and respected web zine that publishes poetry, prose, video, photo, and web art. Submissions accepted via email or hard copy.

Welcomes "fresh and innovative" submissions of fiction, essay, and poetry by e-mail or post.
Elm Leaves
A magazine of the arts published by the students of Buffalo State College.

Existing to bring quality poetry to a wide audience; accepts poems that "communicate something between author and reader." Submissions accepted via e-mail.

A literary journal based in NY City. Publishes both poetry and nonfiction. Please e-mail 3 to 6 poems.

A quarterly e-zine of poetry, prose, interviews, and feature articles. Unfortunately, Jacket is not currently accepting poetry submissions, but is a quality on-line journal to read.

Publishes electronic poetry, hypermedia, prose, and short narrative. Open to all forms of multimedia, computer generated, and interactive work. No text-based poetry or written work accepted.

Winner of'the Alternative Press Award for "Best Arts dy'Literature Coverage, publishes poems that "push the boundaries of language, narrative, and genre." Rain Taxi is published quarterly in both print and on-line versions.
SLOPE

Devoted to poetry written around the world, SLOPE publishes only new and original poems. One of the first online journals to be anthologized in The Best American Poetry series (2002) and The Best Australian Poetry (2003). As of March 2004, not currently accepting submissions due to large amount of poetry already received.
STRIDE

Originally founded in 1994 as The B/ue Penny Quarterly, one of the "oldest living literary magazines online." Accepts poetry, fiction, audio and hypermedia submissions via email. Poetry bias is towards "charged language." No reprints or previously published pieces will be considered.
The Hold

Contemporary writing from both. well known and new writers. No "flowery" poems please. Accepts 1-2 pieces at a time; e-mail or post submissions.
