Just need a computer for an hour or two?


Borrow a laptop! Laptops are available for two-hour loan at the Application Support Desk. No reservations needed; first come, first served. These laptops are non-renewable and are for in-library use. Laptops not returned before the library closes will be considered lost/stolen and the borrower will be billed for the full replacement cost.

Equipment Loan

Equipment Loan is a service of the Application Support Desk. Equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Faculty, staff, and students may reserve equipment in person, or by using the form below. Advance notice is advised to ensure equipment availability.

Loan Periods

Reservations must be made at least one day in advance. Maximum loan period is seven days but will vary depending on availability of equipment. Equipment is not renewable. Back-to-back reservations will be canceled.

 Borrower’s Requirements

Only patrons who present a valid Buffalo State ID card are eligible to borrow equipment. In addition, patrons must have a library account in good standing and must sign the Equipment Loan Agreement every time equipment is checked out.

Hours

Equipment may be checked out from 7:30 am to 8:00 pm daily. Equipment may be returned any hour the library is open. Hours may vary during holidays and intersession -- please call for details. See our complete schedule of library hours.

 Liability

The patron who checks out the equipment is solely responsible for its safe return in good condition and will be held financially liable for theft, loss, or damage. Equipment must be checked in by a library staff member. Library staff will verify that the equipment was returned in good condition and that no accessories are missing.

Overdue Fines/ Replacement Costs

Overdue fines: $5.00 per day
Replacement cost: Fee Schedule (PDF)

Unpaid fines can result in suspension of borrowing privileges, cancellation of registration, blocked transcripts, and delayed graduation.
