How do I pay for prints and copies?
Printers and copiers do not accept money. You must use your Buffalo State ID card or a VendaCard to make prints or copies. Add-value machines are located in the lower lobby and in the Copier Lounge. These machines will allow you to purchase a VendaCard for $1.00 (the card costs $.50, and another $.50 is added to the value of the card), or add value to your Buffalo State ID card or an existing VendaCard.

Where are printers and photocopiers located?
Networked black-and-white laser printers are located in the Information Commons, Media Services, Curriculum Materials Lab, and StudyQuad. Networked color laser printer/photocopiers are in the Information Commons and StudyQuad. Black-and-white photocopiers are located in the Copier Lounge and StudyQuad on the first floor.

    Is legal size paper available?
The copiers contain both letter (8 1/2 by 11 inch) and legal (8 1/2 by 14 inch) size paper. The color copiers have 11x17 paper available. The printers contain only letter size paper.

Can I use my own paper?
No. Some paper can damage our printers and copiers. If you need to print on special paper, please contact the Copy Center in Grover Cleveland Hall, room 111 (878-4509) or your favorite copy shop.

    Can I make transparencies?
Yes. Media Services has the equipment to make transparencies. Go to Media Services where staff will explain and assist in the procedure.

Can I use the library copiers to make handouts in quantity for a class presentation?
While our equipment is good, we do not offer commercial copy center services. Please contact the Copy Center in Grover Cleveland Hall, room 111 (878-4509) or your favorite copy shop.

What if I don't want to pay for prints?
Butler Library offers options for students who need to print:

    • Download - Download your work to a flash (USB) drive or CD-R(W), for sale at the Circulation Desk and the college bookstore. Buffalo State students, faculty, and staff may also save work on their network drive.

    • E-mail - Many of our online databases now allow you to e-mail citations and full-text articles to your account. Send the articles to your e-mail address and read them or print them somewhere else.

Who do I contact if I need help using this equipment?
Look for our student assistants in orange shirts or ask at the counter in Media Services.
